Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E)

Ascent Healthcare Solutions is committed to leading our industry, pioneering new ideas and fulfilling its corporate environmental responsibility to both our community and the hospitals we serve. Ascent serves as a Partner for Change in the Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E) initiative. Our participation includes educating and encouraging our partner hospitals to become members and sharing in the goals of H2E, which include developing Pollution Prevention Programs, Dangerous Toxins Elimination and Medical Waste Minimization.

The scope of our environmental programs includes: (1) Assisting our customers with waste reduction through our Advantage™ collection and recycling program, (2) Implementing internal recycling programs and, (3) Seeking new and innovative ways to meet our goals of medical waste minimization. Ascent believes that conservation, reduction, reuse and recycling are cornerstone programs, which through internal implementation and partnering with like-minded hospitals, will best serve the communities we jointly serve in safeguarding the environment.

Ascent focuses internally on providing a safer environment and recycling goals which enhance our work environment, employee safety and employee pride of participation in making a better environment. We also focus on external goals of instituting medical waste minimization programs and encouraging H2E membership for partner hospitals.
